バンコクで偶然出会った雑貨屋さんの日本人オーナー、タカさんから教えてもらった、シャンバラ祭。チェンマイの近くのチェンダオてとこで、日本人が主催してるというミュージックフェスで、2月6日から10日ほどの期間で開催されるとのこと。

I met Taka-san in Bangkok who, unexpectedly, told me about Shambhara festival. This festival is held in Chiang Dao near Chiang Mai every year and the main organizer is Japanese. It seemed to be held around 10 days from 6th February this year.
たまたまタイミングも合ったので、宿のメンバーと行くことに。

My schedule fitted with the members in my guesthouse unexpectedly, so we went there together.
合言葉はHEPOPA。自給自足、パーマライフ、とかそんな意味で、主催者の方が作られた造語らしい。

The keyword is “HEPOPA”. It seems to mean like a self-sufficiency or permanent life and the main organizer made the word.
自然いっぱいで小規模で温泉あって昼間からビール飲んで音楽聴いたりとよかった。タイの音楽も欧米の音楽も聴けたし。

There was a lot of nature around and hotsprings. And we could drink beer and listen to music from daytime, so it was good. We could also listen to Thai music and western music.
んやけど、山の上やから夜が寒すぎた。寝袋を持ってないし…なめてた、山。
いかんせん、夜の寒さと諸事情により2日でリタイア。

But it was too cold in the night because the festival was held on the mountain. I didn’t have a sleeping bag. I was off my guard against the mountain.
Because of it and another reasons, I left after just 2 days.
さよならシャンバラ。
